Filename says "1080p.BluRay.x264"
but I have to wonder...
...how can a 1080p highdefinition movie fit within only 8 Gigabyte unless the compression ratio is horribly extreme high? ...or maybe resolution has been lowered thus making it a non 1080p movie?
I'm not saying it's not working, it's just me wondering how it's possible.

Anyone else having trouble with audio/visual synch? After a couple of minutes, I have about a five second audio delay.
I'm having trouble with this one a couple of seconds in the picture stops but the sound continues using VLC... appreciate some help, thx
Thanks for this y'all. Having said that...
Note to Sector7 - What is this obsession people have with encoding bluray rips to x.254 high@5.1 profile? It's incompatible with almost all stand-alone players such as those based on Syabas chips, has capability for too many ref frames, but more importantly is far beyond the spec even for blu-ray. Totally unnecessary. Can't y'all encode to 4.1 please?

@ swedish_man
It takes a lot of processor to decode HD video. Hit ctrl-alt-del and change the vlc process priorities to high or real-time. Also close all other unnecessary apps.

I think what most people don't realize about HD playback problems is:
if it's choppy in anyway, chances are you have a multi-processor system. You need to enable program support and OS support for multiprocessor systems. That includes making sure you have drivers for your processors.
In addition, MSCONFIG, BOOT.INI tab, select your OS used if more than one, then click on advanced options. Ensure that /NUMPROC is equal to the number of cores your processor has. Dual core should equal 2 and Quad core should equal 4.

uhh, numproc is for numeric processors, you should only have 1 of those even with dual or quad core systems
oh wait.. nm it's for multiple processors but you don't need that option because windows automatically detects multiple processors, that command line option only allows you to limit the number of cpu's. but THIS is important: if you use ffdshow go to decoder options and make sure to put your number of cores in to "number of decoding threads"
