Want to watch it on the big screen? Here are a few ways to do that: 1) Do you have a PSP slim? If so buy the TV out cables and direct connect to your tv and play them that way. You can buy regular composite cables, svideo cables, and component cables. I recommend you buy the component cables if you have an HD capable tv. 2) Do you have an XBOX 360 and a PSP? Hook your PSP to your XBOX 360 via the usb mini b cable. Go to the media blade on your 360, select videos, change source, select portable device, navigate to your video. 3) If for some reason you don't have a PSP and you do have an XBOX 360 then you can just put the video files on any usb device, an iPod for instance, or a digital camera and just connect them to your XBOX in the same manner as above. 4) You should also be able to stream the video to your XBOX 360 via windows media player 11. I'm sure there are similar methods to get the video to play on a Sony PS3 also, but I don't own one so I cannot comment. -HR

Can someone tell me if my PSP encodes that i am posting work with ipod touch and iphone? I'm thinking they should but I don't know if they support level 21 of h264 codec. Nor do I have access to one of these devices to test if they do.

I could not sync these to my ipod touch, so I guess it's not going to work. ipod touch and iphone are the same as far as video goes, so no good. Thanks for trying though!

Ya, these are encoded with Context-adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC) from main profile. Apple only supports baseline profile. I am encoding these at 320xXXX res using Context-adaptive variable-length coding (CAVLC) and they will be iPod ok. I will most likely be posting this iPod OK series at a later time.

Just as FYI and you probably know this already, the iPod touch and iPhone and new nano all support widths up to 640 pixels so you can go a bit larger there and get quality that will be decent on the computer screen too.

i see that someone has ripped weeds season 1-3 and posted them for ipod. They are horribly over sized though if you ask me. Probably encoded with old version of x264 or something.
I have already re-ripped them in ipod 320 width using my same settings as the psp settings, other than dimensions, h264 level, cavlc coder. They look ok, look worse though than this psp rip of course due to smaller size and less effiecient encoder. The 320 width shows do play on PSP, the PSP just zooms them to fit screen properly.
I don't own an ipod touch or iphone to test with so I dont dare post at 640 width. my 5th gen ipod wont play the 640 vids either, the 5.5 gen ipod would i suppose, alas i dont have one of those either.

with the mp4 format that you're using for the psp, will that also play on the 80g Zune?
would the widths and codec be appropriate for the Zune to play it?

the ones that say only PSP in the description will work on a Zune, but the Zune software has to transcode it at sync time. If it says like iphone, ipod touch, zune then it will work without zune conversion.
The zune does some logic and makes the 480 width encodes look proper on that 320x240 screen. I tested it with some peoples.
