Somebody please help. I got this and it plays on my VLC media player. Video: OK Music OK other sound NOT OK. I don't get audio speech. Only background music. It seems I miss something, but I am a noob in this. Any ideas? thanks in advance

so are these always encoded at HP@L5.1 and with 6 or 8 ref frames because they're only meant to be watch on a HTPC, or because the encoders don't know that Blu-ray and HD DVD are originally HP@L4.1 and with like 3 ref frames, and that nothing besides a HTPC can play L5.1, only 4.1 because 5.1 is for mastering and 4.1 is consumer level, or do they just hate us ppl with older computers?

If you're having problems playing 1080p content, it's probably not your computer. It's more than likely a codec problem. They can cause .mkv files to shudder, or have audio and video sync issues. Try removing all of them and just loading the ones you need. Search the internet for the proper codec. vlc player and windows media player classic are my top picks, and then i only load the k-lite codec pack. I can play everything, and have no problems.
