Sorry about the password comment.
I double checked and ran a "check data integrity" thing in my bit torrent client. Turns out 2 of the RAR files were corrupt. Went back to downloading those 2 RAR files.
After that it extracted without asking for a password. I guess with the corrupt RAR files my compression/decompression program (in Linux) got confused and wanted a password.
Again it is only because of a corrupted download which I was able to fix by re-downloading the two RAR files. This was probably due to several reboots while downloading thanks to several power outages (big storm in my area).
So all is well.

A NOTE FOR SONY PS3 OWNERS !!!
I was able to use tsMuxeR to "convert" this MKV to a M2TS file. This is a fairly simple and quick procedure that includes no re-encoding nor any transcoding.
The resulting M2TS file played back perfectly on my SONY PS3.
I wish I could say that of all H.264 MKV files!
