why would you want anything but flac? you are missing so much of the subtle details that make music so great if you are using mp3. Replace the crappy firmware on your mp3 player and make the switch, you will never go back.

Sure. Download 290Mb of audio instead of 40Mb and listen to it on those crappy lo-fi iPod earbuds. Makes a lot of sense.

If you want to use mp3 on ur handheld-mediaplayer (mp3-player), then just convert. Do you want to burn it to a cd, then this is the same quality as the original cd, if its ripped well and had no scratches and so on :p

What I dont get is, do you listen to 1000 or for that sake 100 different songs when you actually use it? Put in the songs you need, and thats it, you wont be listening to the other songs anywayz, its just a lie you tell yourself, unless you actually want to listen to the songs, and then you add em in, but you wont maybe have time to listen to that and that. Just the batterylifetime alone will limit you.
