Am getting a speed at 10-25 kbs, after 55 hours of downloading am at 42,5 %. Someone please seed!
A regular DVD player won't play this.
HA! I spent a week downloading this and the other two and come to find out that the audio and video don't sync up, I dont know what it is but if anyone has an answer I will redownload and seed but only if it works.
The first time I open this movie with DivX the audio and video play as normal but then lags out and I have to shut down the program. I reopen it with DivX or any other program ( besides VLC player ) and the audio is clicking sounds the whole way through. Nero doesn't even recognise the sounds if and when I want to burn this to dvd. Any help?
Amazing quality :) The video and sound is in sync when I play this video using VLC. Use VLC player to play HD content. VLC got all codecs built in, and if the sound is not syncronized, you can change the sound delay using CTRL+K & CTRL+L.
Don't download this, or the other LOTR uploads by -peas-. The quality is shit, nothing like real HD. Sure, the video resolution is 1080p (1920x800), but that by itself doesn't mean anything. Like somebody already said, this is almost certainly just upsampled DVD.
Thank you very much "PEAS". Very good video quality and audio(5.1) too. Absolutely no problem with VLC player. well I am downloading the return of king and 2 towers also...
I dont know how anyone can say this is good 1080p quality. Fucking bullshit. Im playing it on a Samsung SyncMaster 24" monitor 1900x1200 and its fucking shit. What a waste.

and for all those bastards out there who say "why the fuck did you download it then?!", well fuck you. How the fuck was i supposed to know its gonna come out this shit. Its like 720p upscaled. Iv seen better 720p vids than this.
Praises.
I am at roughly 70% on all three of them.
I can open the files to preview certain bits (tho they tend to tear after a few minutes)
I honestly have to say it blows away my DVD versions. I actually had decided to watch the LOTR once more and halted after finishing TTT because I couldn't stand watching it on a regular DVD after seeing this.

Just out of curiosity, why not a .mkv encoding? Would it have made a difference? And do you happen to know what your source's source was?
Looks great nevertheless and it's the best thing out there until 2011 since they said the BD for LOTR will be released after The Hobbit :'(

Good job and may God, Allah, Buddha, Krishna, Zeus and Enki all bless you ;)
QUALITY NOT OUTSTANDING AS SOME SUGGEST.
For that filesize you can achieve better results, lots of artefacts visible on my 32" hd screen. (However, by tweaking the brightness levels you can hide them pretty effectively.) If you can get a x264 version get that instead.
Sound quality good
Video decent quality

I can get dl speeds of 800+kbps but for this the average I got was about 10-12kbps, pissed the hell outta me!

Awesome movie though.
*** for those of you who dont know, there is no proper High Definition 1080p Lord of the Rings out yet. So consider the following points before you download this:

1) Its Decent quality- NOT OUTSTANDING

2) The uploader (-peas-) has uploaded the complete trilogy here on piratebay. Only the second one (i.e The Two Towers) has superior quality. So your better off downloading the first one and the last one from somewhere else. I have seen a 720p version of the trilogy (which has better quality) available elsewhere on torrents. Google it:)

3) It has a resolution of 1900x800. Its supposed to be 1900x1080. This doesnt effect image quality at all, but its just for the picky ones to know:)

4) The Trilogy has not been released on BlueRay nor HD-DVD yet, so if your after a proper 1080p HD version, sorry you gonna have to wait.

5) If your wondering where its been recorded from, i reckon from a TV source like Sky HD or a channel similar to that. After being recorded onto a Dual Layered DVD it was most likey uploaded.

6) Lastly, Thanks to -pease- for uploading this. Sorry for the bad comment before. Keep up the good work!
Please seed, its a good movie and i really want to get it but it takes me 4 weeks to download so i really hope you raise your upload limit.
Thx for upload!

To best play this movie, download Vista Codec Package from here: http://shark007.net/, and then play in Windows Media Player
How can I put this on a dvd dual layer for backup!
Downloading speed wont go above 10kb, been downloading for 3 days and only at 9%. can someone please seed!
i have more seeders than usual but download still going super slow. great movie.
downloading no greatrer than 10kb. please seed. downloaded return of the king at about 190kb which was great but this and 2 towers are super slow.
Just bought a 1080p hdtv, what if i burn this to a regular dvd, will the quality be, at the least, better than the regular dvd version bought in the store?
Downloading for 3 days, 27% done, sigh. I am downloading at around 15 kb/s and uploading at 20.. thanks so much! Seed you greedy buggers.

AS FAR AS QUALITY:
Don't be stupid, this is far better quality than the DVD, I watched a bit with VLC, and it looked fantastic. This is NOT A DVD UPSCALE, you can't invent quality and detail where it doesn't exist! This is at worst a 720 upscale but it still ooks lovely. Just look at the link for the comparison screencaps.

PS: I see a lot of idiots making comments like 'crap quality, don't watch on TV' on here. It makes me lol. You believe that screen size has to do with viewing quality, and not resolution! You do realise that an SD video watched on a big 32 inch SD screen will look far better than on a 19 inch monitor, as monitor resolutions nowadays are far higher than SD therefore the picture is stretched. Think before you tell people how to watch videos.
If you're having problems playing 1080p content, it's probably not your computer. It's more than likely a codec problem. They can cause .mkv files to shudder, or have audio and video sync issues. Try removing all of them and just loading the ones you need. Search the internet for the proper codec. vlc player and windows media player classic are my top picks, and then i only load the k-lite codec pack. I can play everything, and have no problems.
