DJ Danger Mouse - The Grey Album
================================

This album, produced by DJ Danger Mouse in 2004, was effectively banned by
the major labels EMI and Sony for the heinous crime of daring to sample
The Beatles.

It is a remix of Jay-Z's Black Album using beats and samples taken entirely
from The Beatles' White Album.

It was critically acclaimed. Then, it was burned.

Almost all the remaining copies were physically destroyed by EMI.

This one survived.

This is the only perfect copy of the Grey Album on the internet.

Please let it multiply.

Unlike the CD Downhill Battle pressed for the protest against the banning of
the album (Grey Tuesday), which went through a bad mp3 codec during its
rescue over peer-to-peer networks, this copy is untouched and was
independently "ripped" from one of the few original CDs that escaped.

It is a true archival copy of a lost album. It should be treasured as the art
it is, and shared with as many people as possible.

It is unedited, complete and compressed with the widely-used FLAC lossless
codec.

It includes the original covers (600dpi).

It is suitable for full-quality repressings of the CD.

Please do not sell this album.

Remember... it is for promotional purposes only. So get promoting.

Signed,

Penfold.

Abuse,

That's a great story line. I was totally uanaware of any large projects involving DJ Danger Mouse, outside of the collaboration with C-Lo on the Gnarls Barkley Album.

It's disgusting how Big Brother is continually trying to legislate their brand of morality on consumers as well upon the artists themselves.

What ever happened to the saying that," imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"?

Thanks for the info, and much love for the torrent!
wow been looking all over for this :s to bad they wanted bad of it, its a sick album only heard the remix of 99 problems so far i cant wait for it to finish downloading
Thank you!

hellz ya a buddy of mine was jammin this at a party the other nite...absolutely terrific mix thanx for the upload
Very interesting.

I did a search for "[FLAC]" on PirateBay, just to see all the available [FLAC] music torrents and found this one @ the top for seeders. I didn't know about this scandal, and have never heard of DJ Danger Mouse. Awesome story though. I'll be glad to be a part of it! :}
Why is the artist tagged as "Jay-Z". Danger sampled jay-z, but danger is still the artist!
Amazing torrent. I never thought this would be released. Cheers friend, I'll seed it many times over.

I learned about this album in a 3rd year poli sci/media studies course in 2005 - had a perfect copy then had the contents of my car forcibly removed and thought it was lost forever. Thanks!
